25-26 Event Planning

3D Calendar Illustration

In getting ready for next school year, we are excited to say we have some new board positions to vote on, and you may do so here: 25-26 Board Voting Form.

Also we've decided to create a few new committees that will focus on planning age/audience-specific events:

Parent Events Committee

Middle School Event Committee

Elementary/Family Events Committee

We would love to add to these growing groups, so if you are interested and able, please email us at info@a12gifted.org and we will get you in touch with the lead parent(s).

Conversations with CAGT

Parent Education Resource

Did you know that our parent organization, the Colorado Association of Gifted and Talented (CAGT), hosts virtual speakers on a wide variety of GT-related topics?  You can watch Conversations with CAGT live on their Facebook page at 5pm the 1st Tuesday of each month during the school year.  But even better, you can also see all their archives of recorded presentations from the past 5 seasons HERE.  There are some fabulous talks from many of the top GT experts across the country!  You can browse the topics for ones that interest you and learn a lot about the GT world on your own time. Check them out over the summer, and then look for their next season to begin again in August.

Boredom Busters

Bishop

This past spring, we debuted our new Parent Forum event.  The topic was "I'm bored! - How to engage our GT students both at home and in school." We began with a short presentation (you can see the slides HERE), followed by an extended period of moderated table discussions.

We also have created a new page under the Student Enrichment section of this site where you can find some resources for this topic: Boredom Busters!

And be sure to check out the other Student Enrichment pages for board games, online activities, and summer activity ideas.

Student Art Contest

Event Icons - Parent Meetings_edited_edited.png

This will be the 7th year that CAGT would like to invite students from around Colorado to share their outstanding artistic talents with the attendees at this year’s fall conference that will be from Oct. 19-21st, 2025.  Students who attend any K-12 school or homeschool can create their interpretation of this year's conference theme: Empowering Change.

Accepted artwork will be displayed at the John Q Hammons Conference Center at the Embassy Suites in Loveland for conference participants to view and vote on their favorites.   Submissions are due by Monday Sept. 15, 2025.  See the flyer for all rules and guidelines.

And click HERE for info on the 47th Annual CAGT Conference itself!

New to GT?
Do you have a newly-identified GT student?

We know parents who are new to the world of GT often have many questions about what GT identification will mean for their child.  If you are unsure where to start, check out these short videos for parents of newly-identified GT students and look over the other resources available on our page.  If you have other questions, we are here to help!  Just send us an email at info@a12gifted.org.  Welcome!

Stay Connected
Get involved!

Did you know that all of our parent education meetings, Super Saturday's, MS activities, and field trips are planned and coordinated by parents like you? In order to continue providing these programs for you and your children, we need your help! Please become involved in your child's education by volunteering to help with an Adams 12 GT Parents Group event or by attending one of our monthly Leadership meetings to learn about GT resources and updates and plan events for Adams 12 GT families.  You can see all the current events in our latest newsletter.  Please contact us with your questions at info@a12gifted.org

Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!

The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community.  Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!

Gracias!
