March 4, 2025

One of the key goals of the Adams 12 GT Parents Group is to cultivate a strong and supportive community among the Adams 12 GT parent community. To help parents find support and a feeling of belonging, we host informal meet-ups for parents of gifted and talented students in our district.
Our next social hour will be an in-person, evening event on March 4, 6:30-8pm at Prost Biergarten in Northglenn. Social hours are a wonderful opportunity to share experiences or concerns in a casual conversation with other GT parents. See the Sign Up for more details and to let us know you are coming.

We are excited to announce an educational opportunity for our elementary GT students coming up on Saturday, April 26. We are working with the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies to put together a learning experience at their education center at Barr Lake in Brighton, CO. More information about the event and how to register coming soon!

Save the date!
On March 24 at 6:30pm, we will debut our new Parent Forum event! We will have a panel of experienced GT parents begin with a short presentation, followed by an extended period of moderated table discussions.
Our topic for March is "I'm bored! - How to engage our GT students both at home and in school." Our intent is to provide practical tips and resources as well as an opportunity to connect with other district GT parents to share experiences and hear what has worked for others. We're excited for this community building event and hope you are too! Check back for more details and to register for the event.

GT College Info Night

The Adams 12 high school GT Advocates hosted a College Planning Night on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Legacy High School. This is an opportunity for parents of high school students to learn more about selecting and applying to a college or university, but with information geared specifically towards GT students.
Slide decks and resources from the 2024 and 2025 College Planning Nights can be found on our College Info resource page.

Build Community
Support GT programs in your school!
The school district and the A12GTPG will continue to build the "school liaison" program to strengthen communication to families and to build our GT community. Each liaison has the opportunity to join meetings during the school year where district staff, the A12GTPG and other Liaisons gather to discuss how to best bring resources to our schools, GT students and their families. Help us move forward GT programming in your school!
